Utsch has representatives in more than 120 countries in the world. It was founded in 1961 as a small family business specialised in the manufacture of license plates. The license plate has remained the core of the product range of the Siegen firm.  However, with a multitude of products and services the former craftsman’s business has grown to become the innovation motor of modern license plate and vehicle registration systems.

Besides the classic license plates, Utsch AG offers a broad range of modern machines, tools and equipment to manufacture and customise license plates, all the way up to fully-automated production lines.

Modern security technologies such as holograms and laser and UV-codes that are meanwhile in use in many countries in the world were developed by Utsch.
The inventors of the Erut license plate frame set the standards for quality, workmanship and design. Continuously new products for car dealerships offer a multitude of advertising opportunities around license plates.

The development of new license plate systems such as the self-illuminating plates ranks first as a contribution to increasing traffic safety on German roads.

But Utsch AG not only supplies license plates. Its subsidiary Utsch Recycling, as a partner in the environmentally-friendly recycling of raw materials, also makes a valuable contribution through the disposal and re-use of number plates.

With representatives in more than 120 countries, Utsch is the leading name in the field for authorities and governments of almost all countries in the world. The Utsch Group employs 500 people worldwide and had a total turnover of over € 200 million in 2007.
