Skrub´a - The Scrubbing Company
Skruba was founded by Fabrikators, Engineers Andersen & Forsberg. Both having engineering backgrounds, Andersen & Forsberg created Fabrikators to develop their own ideas and to assist private and corporate customers to do the same. Now the business has grown to include new developments in many new areas, and the company is expected to launch 10-15 new products before the end of 2008. When the first product “The Potato Glove” saw the light of day, the company got more than busy keeping up with demand. That is why the Skrub’a Company TM was founded. Skrub’a and all its suppliers have signed and work under the BSCI Nov 2006 Code of conduct thus complying with strict regulations and the highest standards of working ethics and environment. All manufacturing and plant inspection is surveyed by our own personal. A copy of the whole manual can be downloaded from our website. See below.
The product To scrub or not to scrub
Is probably not what the famous prince Hamlet was thinking, when he walked the corridors of Ellsinore’s Kronenburg contemplating how to get rid of his evil uncle, but at least he would find himself in Denmark - the country that somewhat 400 years later would invent this new dogma. ”To scrub or not to scrub”, - that’s today’s question says Lars Forsberg, the creator of a new genius invention, the scrubbing glove called Skrub’a. “There is really no reason for peeling fruits and vegetables as long as you can get them cleaned properly. Avoiding peeling is healthier since most vitamins and minerals are situated just below or in the skin” We all know the problem of skin getting caught in unhygienic cleaning sponges when used to clean fresh potatoes, fruits and vegetables or bristle hard brushes creating a big mess around the sink. Both approaches tend to scrape more skin off your hands than the intended item, and using overly spacious hand operated appliances doesn’t help much, since they are more difficult to clean than the actual potato.
Skrub’a - a new concept, ideal for every kitchen. The Skrub’a scrubbing gloves are superbly effective, consume very little space and are extremely easy to clean after use in tap water or a dishwasher. Most importantly, they preserve the essential vitamins and minerals to a maximum. The patented multi purpose gloves, knitted out of rough nylon fibres, allow the user to scrub and scrape almost any food item.
Skrub’a – also for kids
What started out as a plain annoyance for the 41 year old Lars Forsberg, father of two, have within 2 years grown to become a major success in more than 20 countries. His latest idea is to bring Kids into the kitchen. “My son Magnus, aged 3, always wants to help me out in the kitchen, but so far I have been reluctant due the risk of sharp knives and dangerous kitchen appliances. Making the potato gloves in a Kids-size allow us to spend more time together and have fun while doing kitchen chores. Magnus will learn and get a better understanding of what foods are good for you and the need of helping out”. Founders of Skrub’a - the scrubbing company TM Andersen & Forsberg proclaim that they will launch 10-15 new and innovative products in the series of scrubbing gloves in the near future.
Consumer feedback
A survey of 180 buying customers conducted during the autumn of 2006 revealed a tremendous degree of satisfaction with the product, and its unique effectiveness. The main conclusions from the survey were: - 94 % were very satisfied with the product. - 91 % would recommend the product to friends, family etc. Furthermore, the survey demonstrated the wide variety of usage for the gloves in the kitchen, ranging from cleaning of carrots, baked potatoes and beetroots, to pumpkins as well as other vegetables. Projected sales figures for 2007 in Denmark are just under a quarter of a million pairs (240.000). This translates to a threefold increase thereby establishing the product as a standard item within more than 12% of all Danish households. The preordered quantity to date (February 1st ) stands at 185.000 pairs.
The scrubbing gloves have been tested by the Danish Technological Institute to meet the highest standards for food hygiene and migration. The gloves hold a world patent and are currently sold worldwide. Skrub’a gloves patent pending PCT/IB2006/053845
Faq How do you pronounce Skrub'a? Skrub’a is pronounced “Scrub bah” – The spelling derives from Danish where the phrase “Skrub af” – commonly pronounced as “Skrub a” has a dual meaning of scrubbing something, or to “get lost” or “beat it” – in a nice way :)
Will the gloves fit any size of hands? Yes, just look our for adult or kids size. One of the big advantages of the gloves is that they are very flexible to fit a grown man and women all in one size fits all. The KIDS version will fit Kids from 4-12 year on an average.
Does the glove contain any harmful substance? No, the gloves are made mainly of Nylon and the migration levels are extremely low. The gloves have been tested to meet the highest standards, and have passed both tests at the Danish Technological Institute, as well as tests conducted for the American market (FDA) by accredited Bureau Veritas
How do I use the gloves? Everybody has their own preference – try and take a look at the video demo here and you will get a better understanding. Click here.?????? (Video findes ikke pt) Basically the pressure you can apply e.g. with your hand and thumb will overcome most cleaning/ scrubbing you need to do.
Do you have a pair of gloves for my kids – and are they safe to use? Yes and yes. The whole purpose of the KIDS gloves is to get kids helping out in the kitchen allowing you to spend more time together as a family. KIDS love to scrub.
How rough are the gloves? There are different versions all designed to meet the specific purpose. In general gloves are rough yet gentle and the roughness or the effect can be adjusted with the pressure you add yourself.
How do the gloves feel on the inside? You will find two versions. One is open – allowing water or fluids to pass thru. There is no discomfort wearing this. Most users do not mind at all. The alternative model is a closed glove (water- and fluid proof) with a luxury inner lining of spandex.
Are the gloves waterproof? You can get both waterproof and open type at your own preference. For some purposes only the water tight version is available due to the purpose of the particular glove. How long will a pair last? Due to the quality of the knitting and the nylon component, you can expect the gloves to last one full season.
