Our central expertise is providing comprehensive advice about the sewing process. We regard ourselves as sewing experts who are very precisely informed about all the parameters which influence sewing in any way. Textiles or other sewing materials, needles, threads and machine settings have to be carefully adjusted to one another, since these factors have a decisive influence on sewability, quality and durability.
We maintain a constant dialogue with the manufacturers of threads, fabrics and machines in order to perfect our high-performance needles and to optimise every single aspect of our customers’ sewing processes.
The SCHMETZ SERVICEHOUSE is the focus of all our service activities. Experienced sewing consultants provide support regarding any sewing or processing problem, conduct training programs and seminars, and offer technical information. These include the “Guide to Sewing Techniques” with technical advice across all sectors and the industry folders which contain specific industry-related literature for the various industries. An integral part of the industry folders is the so-called “Sewing Focus”, which is already available for 20 different industries. Additionally, there is the “Product Focus” which includes specific needle recommendations for the different industries as well as a list of the most-used needle systems.

SCHMETZ has a complete range of needles for every industry related to sewing. Whatever the sewing assignment, we can place a needle system at your disposal, with different needle sizes and various point styles. In many cases we can also offer alternative surface coatings. This diversity is essential to ensure that however complex the task, we can always offer a sewing machine needle which is ideal for the purpose.
