The idea to make bags out of Astroturf began in 2006, and has since evolved into a collection of bags not only out of astroturf but also a combination of materials such as imitation leather, canvas, top-quality cotton patchwork fabrics as well as hand-made silk screen prints made exclusively for FLIO-Design by FROHSTOFF in Hamburg. A wonderful relationship
between a designer bag and a durable and versatile material,made for those who treasure the special things in life.

Green is not the only color Astroturf has to offer, giving the 100% hand-made in Europe FLIO-bags an assortment of colors ranging from black, grays and blues, to brown, beige and reds. The collection has also grown to include a wide range of matching accessories such as key rings, wallets, cosmetic bags and mobile phone pouches.

Little did Michaela Meißner know that what started out as a hobby, (her primary job is running a nursing service that she founded in 1995) would turn into a growing company with a sought after product. Sandra de Beek, a freelance designer from New York with a BFA in Fashion Design, joined the team in 2008. Since then, this Bremen based creative duo has presented several winter and summer collections and received the attention of the local press as well as being published in various fashion catalogs and magazines.

Active promotion through Arts and Crafts fairs and professional Trade Shows has brought FLIO-Design to all parts of Germany and neighbouring European countries, as well shedding interest over-seas. This success has lead to current planning for a larger capacity and growth of the yet small company.
