Françoise Iberl, a professional photographer, is designing necklaces from 1995, starting out with beads worked on Cow bone and Cow horn from her sisters (Marie-Rose Iberl) workshop in Nairobi (KENYA). From the beginning, matching ear clips and brooches were part of her collection.
Black, white and black/white (pattern - wax batik) were the first colors of bone, with time the collection became more classic, including grey bone as well as matt and polished Cow horn in natural colors.
The possibility to influence shape and quality of her material through this close cooperation with Marie-Rose, Françoise Iberl’s collection of bone and horn jewelery became soon outstanding in style and quality.
Fascinated by natural materials and perfect handwork, she included sponge coral, handworked silver, aluminium, glass and coconut shell.
Typical for her work is a clean and graphic look, bringing out the beauty of the natural material and the perfect workmanship. Off centre designs as well as playful touches complete collections for smart day to day wear as well as outstanding artwork for evening dresses.
Off late, the Iberl-Sisters decided to work even closer together, creating the complete collections offered in Europe together. This led to even greater variety of models, from precisely constructed designs on wire as well as to playful long creations. Suede belts, adorned with polished horn pieces, asymmetric as usual, complete the offer.
Cooperation with Fashion Designers is the most important source of inspiration for Françoise and Marie-Rose Iberl: for them, accessories are not just an additional detail but part of the whole composition of personality, garment and jewellery.
The latest discovery, clay beads worked in traditional manner, from South America (Honduras), will be a highlight of their new collection. The rusty color blends in nicely with this autumn’s fashion. Designs by Françoise and Marie-Rose Iberl are presented on International Fairs in Frankfurt (Tendence-Lifestyle, Ambiente) and Paris (Bijorhca).
Production is done partly in Nairobi (Kenya) and partly in Schweinfurt(Germany). Orders, deliveries and customer relations are still organized from Françoise Iberls office in Schweinfurt (Germany.
