We, at FUJISATO WOODCRAFT, are producer of Iwayado Tansu which is traditional wooden chest of drawers with hard carved iron fastenings of Iwate in the Northern part of Japan, and we distribute our products.
We are trying best to keep its original style in the present day by reproducing Iwayado Tansu of proper design that has been developed by many craftsmen (takumi) since long time ago. We also make an effort for the technical succession to young craftsmen from expert craftsmen to maintain traditional design, craftsmanship and culture.
At FUJISATO WOODCRAFT where Takumi (craftsmen) gather, you can freely see the manufacturing process of the real Iwayado Tansu. We also exhibit Iwayado Tansu of many kinds such as Seiri- Tansu, Tya-Tansu, Kaidan-Tansu, Funa-Tansu in our showroom.
