Testing throughout the production process ensures that only flawless products leave our manufacturing sites. Measuring, testing, calibrating Measuring and testing: The guiding principle behind this is the need for safety. Questions concerning current, voltage, resistance or energy are part of a reliable assessment of electronic processes. The field of test and measurement technology provides measurement-technology products and solutions which guarantee, among other things based on valid regulations and standards, safety and quality when applying or dealing with electrical power,. Electric engineers from all over the world can rely on measuring and test devices carrying brand names which are rich in tradition. Our wide, well-coordinated product range makes selection easier for the user. Portable test devices and professional testers are part of our core products. They control the electric security of cables, machines and devices, for example in medical engineering. Installation and operation of electric and electronic devices and systems are, after all, subject to strict safety requirements. The PC-interface facilitates evaluation, documentation and archiving of the readings. GMC-Instruments also provides the required software. The range of portable measuring devices is equally diverse: Precision multimeters with DKD (German calibration service) calibration certificate, calibrators and clip-on measuring devices. These products are available for different areas of application as hand-help appliances, folding or table-top units. Nothing remains to be desired. Process Engineering Optimizing process sequences in process engineering with an increasing degree of automation calls for precise and flexibly applicable devices from measuring and control technology. Reliable devices - particularly intrinsically safe measuring systems for applications in potentially explosive areas are a precondition for reproducible quality. The Industrial Measurement and Control Technology division sees itself as a supplier of sensor systems with an integrated service concept. This includes detecting, measuring, storing, displaying and processing measured values, plus the transmission of the resulting information via open fieldbuses to higher-level systems. This is carried out by diverse detection systems for procedural variables, sensors, transducers for mechanical variables, as well as interface and coupling devices, but also interconnectable and intelligent modules such as energy consumption meters and multifunctional active power-meters in modular design for analyzing AC networks in low-voltage and medium-voltage installations. GMC also focuses on process and measured data interface systems. The temperature area is going to play an icreasingly important role in our business. Temperature transducers in surface-mounting enclosures, as well as head transducer with HART protocol and PROFIBUS, serve as key modules. The realization of LONWORKS, PROFIBUS, HART and CAN is part of the standard program. The Industrial Measurement and Control Technology division supplies diverse sensors, transducers and displays for measured values such as voltage, current, power, energy, angle and temperature, for clearly defined user groups in power supply companies, industry and building automation. Complete Solutions from a Single Source Measuring and test systems for use in research, development and calibration laboratories as well as test systems in production and test bay, energy transmission or in mechanical engineering must fulfill particularly high requirements. We respond flexibly to customer-specific requests. For us, reliability and the highest degree of functionality are the most decisive factors. The range of products and services from the power supply group is well-suited to the demand. It offers industrial solutions through a wide product range of power supply components including interconnectable and intelligent modules. Power supply modules for laboratory power supply networks and customer-specific power supplies. Realization via an IEEE488 interface is standard. We also support users with the planning and realization of complete testing stations and user-specific complete solutions in automation projects. Even under extremely adverse envrionmental and operational conditions, we ensure an uninterrupted and reliable electrical power supply which meets all customer demands for processes, systems and machines. Efficient Use of Energy To reduce costs for energy, gas, pressurized air, water or steam basically means to install efficient test and control mechanisms. Only if the consumption quantity and load courses have been detected can saving potentials be determined. The Energy Management division is perfectly prepared for this task due to its energy control system (ECS). Detection, network and evaluation components also ensure a cost-center-oriented allocation and load optimization of consumption for all sites. The detection level comprises electronic power meters, flow measuring devices and heat meters. The energy consumption data are transmitted to data concentrators for evaluation and calculation via this structure. Thus, users need no longer bother with taking readings from the individual on-site meters and manually transferring data to diverse carriers. In a further stage the data concentrators are networked via a LAN. The load profiles of daily, monthly and annual values of all stations then serve as a basis for the rational and controlled use of energy. Wasting energy is then a thing of the past. A complete energy management system is created which is integrated into a higher-level system for operating data acquisition. There is no more cost-efficient way to detect and calculate energy costs based on consumption. Besides powerful hard- and software components for energy measurement technology, we also offer the configuration, detailed planning and implementation of turnkey energy management systems. Energy Customer Services The Energy Customer Service division is, as a central unit, responsible for supporting our customers with the tasks and problems during the complete service-life-cycle. One of our maximes is: We are committed to satisfying our customers. In this context, it is important for us to impart know-how to enable our customers to best-use the performance and technical innovation of our devices. Electricians and security officers, who test, maintain or operate systems and devices, are responsible for the reliability of the equipment. We prepare them for this responsible task with training and practical exercises. Training and laboratory managers, service as well as service and development engineers learn how to use our measuring system's hard- and software. Quality assurance requires reliable means of testing in production, development and the laboratory. In seminars, our customers' employees are taught how to monitor, calibrate and maintain our devices as well as the basics about standards and regulations. We train our customers in our training center in Nuremberg, and also organize on-site trainings. This is, however, not all. Market-oriented products require professionally well-trained employees who can provide expert advice, as well as an excellent service, hotline and calibration service.
