Olbrich's History

In 1949 Herbert Olbrich started with building lines for the production of wallpaper. It was necessary to create the production conditions in order to cover the requirements of a country under reconstruction. Mr. Olbrich soon recognized that knowledge and experience gained with the production of one web product, actually wallpaper, can quite well be applied to another product. The extension of the activities of OLBRICH to the fields of artificial leather and floor covering was a consequent translation of this idea into action. The production of lines for making technical textiles and adhesive tapes was another step in this direction.

Some milestones of the company's history:

1956  Olbrich supplies the first production line for foamed PVC-artificial leather.
