Horwood Homewares Ltd. was established in Bristol in 1896. This small family business grew steadily during the 20th century with an ever greater variety of products, so that by 1930 its catalogue was over 100 pages long. The Judge brand was introduced in the late nineteenth century and is still going strong today as one of Horwood’s key brands. The Stellar brand was introduced in 1984.
The growth and success of the company is due to dedication, determination and attention to detail which was instilled by William Horwood from the very beginning and which has been followed by generations of the Horwood family and employees. Nowadays Horwood enjoys a reputation for quality and service, which is second to none in the housewares industry – but without losing that personal touch synonymous with a family business.
Horwood is now the leading supplier of cookware to UK department stores and specialist kitchenware outlets.
Stellar and Judge products can be found in all prestigious stores, including such famous names as Harrods, Selfridges, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Bentalls, Heals, Conran, Arnotts, Fenwicks and many more.
Now part of Silampos S.A., one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of stainless steel cookware, Horwood still operates from offices in Bristol, with a 5,667 m2 (sq.m) warehouse offering over 95% product availability, supplying over 1500 customers in the UK alone. The turnover achieved in 2006 was in excess of £18 million. The product range, spread over the Stellar, Judge and Horwood brands, covers not only cookware, but also knives, cutlery, tools and gadgets, teaware, bakeware and electrical goods for the kitchen.
Horwood's first class service to customers has drawn recognition from the UK Kitchenware trade in the form of numerous awards over the years, including being voted Top Supplier 1994-2006 by “Housewares”, the UK’s leading trade magazine.
A comprehensive selection of Stellar and Judge kitchenware products, a few of which are illustrated, is to be seen on the Horwood 30 m2 (sq.m) Stand - Hall 8, M96E. Horwood is looking for Distributors and large Retail Groups to sell the Stellar and Judge brands, which are proven to be successful both in UK and Europe.
