The rope, netting and cable industry has shown over the last years a keen interest in specialized, tailor-made coatings to meet its individual needs.

I-Coats N.V focuses exclusively on those needs and provides the worldwide market with the solutions it has been looking for.

I-Coats N.V., Innovative Coating Solutions, located Belgium, was founded in 2006 as a spin- off from GOVI N.V’s successful rope and netting business-unit. The main driver for this initiative has been the continuous willingness of the parties involved, to offer to the actual market an ever improving and more focused tailor-made service.

This reflects in I-Coats N.V.’s mission statement:
“The Continuous innovation of the product performances of ropes, nets and cables, by developing and tailoring coatings or other material applications.”

Relying on GOVI’s chemical experience and development, I-Coats N.V. entrusts it with the continued and improved manufacturing of both existing and new products in the field of coatings. In close connection and permanent discussion with its customers as partners, I-Coats N.V. is able to further develop on and improve existing coatings used on synthetic fibers and yarns as well as on steel-wire cables, for application in the sectors: leisure, global industry , fishing and heavy rope.

Since 2008, I-COATS N.V. and GOVI N.V. have worked together, to meet up with REACH
requirements and all products sold by I-COATS N.V. are pre-registered, when applicable.

In 2010, I-COATS N.V. and BIP Ltd., developed two NMP-free polyurethanes: ICO-THANE 32 (replaces L9009) and ICO-THANE 86 (replaces L9010). These are fully compliant with the new, tighter REACH guidelines.

Furthermore, new products were developed for different fibers and sectors: ICO-THANE BF 10,
ICO-FIX 100, LAGO BF 10, …
