Lapp & Fao has consciously set themselves apart from the lifestyle pretense of beautiful fine foods comprised of a manipulated hodgepodge of products, artificial aromas and sugar pop. We are on the way, and taking a very different pathway to get there.
Just like our namesakes, epicure Linvard Bo Lapp and his chef and partner Ephraim Fao, we are also on the discovery tour of genuine high-quality culinary pleasures and delights.
Passionately traditional – internationally unconventional. True to the stark contrasts between both remote village dishes and the most modern food markets of New York, Tokyo, San Francisco and Parma, we always discover that exclusive treat for both appetite and soul. We thrive on all such inspirations, and then we go for it.
Lapp & Fao means top-quality tea rose tips, imperial coffees and poetically fine chocolate made from cream and continental caramel. Our selection of fine products is created by hand according to traditional recipe, and produced exclusively in small gourmet establishments. We often refine each carefully in nuances, and present everything in a deliberately modern array of fresh inspiration and new ideas. We are fundamentally averse to the addition of any artificial coloring, flavoring, or preservatives. Moreover, we process the best biologically dynamic raw foods whenever possible.
Experience based on good old tradition: the extraordinary culinary adventure of Lapp & Fao is not only reflected in its starkly poetic sense of design. Lapp & Fao’s simple packaging and presentation is sharp and clear. The brainchild behind the polished corporate identity is none other than Hamburg designer Peter Schmidt (Apollinaris, Jil Sander, Hugo boss). A commissioned artist rounds out the image with playfully traditional sketches and illustrations.
Lapp & Fao. Known to “positively confuse” both the palette and the eye. And that is good – only then can we live better. The only path to follow is the one marked by the sign of the black and white tapir. Visionary, timeless, and courageous.
