Lefatex is arose from the company P. Thölen & Co., Schüttorf.
This company was founded in 1884 by Heinrich Jakob Edel as soap factory.
In 1905 Peter Thölen married into the family. Sizing and finishing materials for the textile industry were integrated into the product range and the name of the company was changed to P. Thölen & Co.
In 1946 heinz Thölen took over the company and managed it until his death.
Today the company, now named “Lefatex Chemie GmbH”, is carried on in the 4 generation by Dipl. Ing. Franz Thölen who is working in the chemical industry for more than 35 years.
Today the production range comprises above all special chemicals for various trades.
Textile Lefatex manufactures products for fabric finishing based on emulsions and dispersions.
The dispersions are also used as binding agents for sprayed waddings, fleeces and felts. And than, in large quantities, for technical fabrics of glass for roofing sheets and synthetic fibres for geotextiles as they are used in road constructions.
The dispersions serve also for the coating and laminating of outer garments.
Another wide area is the finishing, coating and laminating of woven carpets, tufted carpets, bath rugs and hand-tufted carpets, as well as the impregnation of needle felts.
Moreover, the company establishes special brochures for flam-retardant and dirt-repelling finishes.
Complete systems are offered for textile printing, in particular the pigment printing.
In the field of interlining, pastes and additives for paste and double dot coatings are produced and marketed.
Colours and construction Dispersions for the colour and construction industries: Here are manufactured various dispersions for in- and outdoor paints, primers, stone plasters and roughcastings, also partially for sealing compounds as they are used in the building industry.
Sealing foam and stream mixture Products with a polyurethane base are manufactured for sealing foams applied in switch cabinets as well as in the packaging, automobile and components supplying industries.
Sealing compounds of polyurethane, epoxide and silicon resins are developed and produced for the electric and automobile industries.
Waxes The company manufactures high-pressure emulsions of natural and plyethylene waxes which are applied in floor care products, as additives for leather coatings and further as additives used in printing inks, coating and woodwork varnishes.
