1939 Foundation of the company by Rudolf Zimmermann in Bamberg (RZB). Manufacture of consumer electronics articles. Expansion of the range of products through in-house processing and treatment of glass, ceramics, plastic and metal.
1953 Completion of a tightly-meshed network of representatives both in Germany and abroad with company-owned external warehouses. Transformation from craft business to a globally active and successful medium-sized business. In the 60s: Large-scale series manufacture of glass and all-plastic luminaires. Beginning of RZB: operating premises in downtown Bamberg Office building on the premises in the docklands
1970 Move to new company buildings. Ongoing expansion of all company sectors, especially light and security technology with the most modern testing and measurement laboratories. Program enlargement to include technical luminaires, light systems, luminaire signs and safety luminaires.
1988 Setting up of the L.I.F.E. Centre (light, information, research and development centre) with exhibitions and conference rooms for presentations and training.
1996 New construction of a logistics centre and setting up of a core stock of goods for just-in-time delivery. Certification of the RZB Quality Management in accordance with ISO 9001 through the DQS. This also brings with it international recognition via the EQ-Net.
1999 The certificate is awarded for another three years.

Our objectives -Expansion of the wide range of luminaires with striking design structures. -Good value for money as a general guideline for the entire RZB luminaire program. -Further improvement of the fast delivery program "Quick Service". -Reinforcement of customer service, consultation and training. -Reorganisation of the catalogue system, extending to user-specific special documentation.
