The Project of Small and Medium Enterprises Consultancy Center (KOBİDAM ) which is owned by the Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry is conducting with cooperation of the European Union and UNDP and came into force starting from 16.01.2007.
Being complementary and supportive for the studies that Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been conducting and since the city of Sanliurfa now the biggest cotton area in Turkey , this Project aims to provide an institutional support and promotional services for the SMEs in textile sector which is an important component of the city’s production industry and the new flashpoint in textile sector in the country.
In this context, KOBİDAM is working intensly on to promote the textile SME’s in the city at the domestic and international level, establishing yarn testing and quality laboratories in order to increase the access of the SMEs operating in the textile industry to domestic and external markets, organizing instutional education information seminars for the administrative staff of the SMEs, maintaining the attendance of the SMEs to domestic and external fairs in order to introduce their products, creating web pages and catalogues for the introduction of company products.
Now we have 31 textile firms in our portfolio as listed below:
- 22 Yarn companies: produce cotton, melange, organic,
different blends, bamboo, viscose, acrilic, polyester yarns
whether for weaving and knitting(One of them is an integrated
factory that use its yarns to produce knitted fabric).
- 3 Apparel companies: that working closely with the brands
like H&M, Zara, Gina Tricot and S.Oliwer.
- 3 Socks companies: produce different kind of socks and
stockings for men, women and kids.
- 1 Medical Textile company: one of the most important bandage
producer in Turkey.
- 2 PP Packaging companies: produce PP sacks and
packaging materials.
