Sider Arc SpA is a leading synthetic monofilament manufacturer, founded in 1948 by Mr. Caludio Gandolfi. Sider Arc has been extruding monofilaments since 1959 and with several decades of experience it has reached a leading role in many technical markets.
The main fields of application are filtration, spacer fabrics, screen printing, automotive, conveyor belts and medical. Despite competition’s growing pressure in recent years, Sider Arc has been able to grow and consolidate its position in the world’s monofilament market for technical applications. In 2006 Sider Arc had an output of about 2300 tons of monofilaments, the goal for 2007 is 2700 tons. In order to accomplish this Sider Arc has 2 production plants, one in Italy and one in Romania, with 14 production lines plus another two that are currently being assembled, working 24 h/day on 3 shifts, 7days/week.
Sider Arc has no truly standard products and it is very flexible in terms of characteristics of the yarn. Sider Arc can tailor its products according to the customer’s requests. The company’s philosophy is to develop a partnership with its customers, because only through a constructive and mutually beneficial exchange of information between the customer and the supplier all needs can be satisfied.
Since the market’s requirements are constantly changing, it is necessary to keep up with such requirements in order not to fall off the leading role. This is the reason why Sider Arc invests so much in R&D (between 10 and 20% of its turnover) and in people, always studying new methods, new materials and new products.
