The Vienna-based family-owned business, active in machine construction since 1835, first specialised in circular weaving technology in 1970. In 40 years of worldwide experience in the field, the company has not only optimised production techniques for classic bulk sacks for sugar, flour, chemicals, etc., but has made the advantages of lightweight raffia fabric available to a number of new market sectors:

• Patented worldwide by Starlinger, the AD*STAR® sack – a block bottom valve sack made without use of adhesives from coated polypropylene fabric – has found international acclaim especially in the cement and building materials industry.

• An FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container, Big Bag) weighing less than 2 kg can carry up to 2000 kg of bulk goods. Starlinger is the leading supplier of production and load-testing equipment for various types of FIBCs.

• The consumer bag made of woven PP fabric and laminated with OPP film has high market potential for retail packages of 10 kg or more. Photo-quality printing, done on the reverse side of the OPP film, ensures attractive shelf presentation and precise reproduction of bar codes. The sack, made entirely of PP, is fully recyclable and packages products such as rice, cereals, and pet foods more securely and at less cost than conventional multi-layer paper sacks.

Starlinger has also proven global competence in the field of plastic recycling technology, offering a spectrum of innovative machinery solutions for the efficient recycling of a variety of plastics, such as PE, PP, PA, PS, PET, and many more.
