Established during the 1990s, The Old Cottage Factory specializes in manufacturing quality housewares and home furnishings. It was not easy to start a houseware company during this time but through continuous participation at the Manila FAME Shows that were organized by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, the company attracted loyal buyers who purchased baskets, wickerwork, shellcraft, etc. from them.
When importers shied away from coming to the Philippines due to travel advisories that warned them of the peace and order situation in the Philippines, The Old Cottage Factory started participating in international trade fairs such as the Hongkong Gift Show, Frankfurt Fairs and Milan Gift Shows. Participation in trade fairs became the preferred tool to attract new buyers and to maintain existing ones.
All lighting products are UL (United States), CE (European Union), GS (Germany), and UK approved. Currently, the company has established a client base with over 70 percent coming from the European Union, and 25% from North America. The company also enjoys a following in the Middle East and countries like Japan and Australia.
The Old Cottage Factory is also a member of the Home Accents Group of the Philippines, Inc. (HAPI), Christmas Decor Producers & Exporters Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Exporters Foundation (PHILEXPORT).
All furnishings are made from polyresin or fiberglass. Aside from their office and showroom in Balintawak, Quezon City, the company also has a factory in Rizal. To ensure quality, a control sample serves as the basis for manufacturing their products. The company usually transacts with a Letter of Credit at Sight.
