Our company:
Tissage de Kalken was founded in 1903.
At that time, the company produced lining for ties, a very special product with almost no competition.
Around 1980, the company switched its production to jacquard weaves.
In 1995 the weaving mill moved from kalken to laarne, in order to enable further expansion.
In 2011 Tissage de Kalken buys out Etrotex, who produces plain and jacquard velvet.
The product range evolved to the curtain market.
With around 60 employees, tdk works with the most sophisticated looms, producing nowadays about 2,5 million metres of high quality drapery fabrics per year, and exports 80% of its production to more than 30 countries worldwide.
