Silver is a medium to express design – it also means that the word fusion does not exist for us – the traditional can stand alongside the contemporary.
This, then, is the guiding philosophy for Whorra Enterprises – Aesthetics. Each piece should look good on its own; in whatever ambience it is placed. Infact it should enhance the ambience.
The word “collection” is not really part of our philosophy. We prefer offering multiple choices to our clientele and thus “variety” is the key word. And in our range are Silver and silver plated gifts, dinner ware, home décor products, baby gifts, - both in hollow ware and flat ware.
Quality standards are relative. At Whorra Enterprises they are absolute and five generations of experience has taught us how to achieve the best. And then our buyers are our best teachers. Here, we can make a sweeping statement, “We have never ever lost a buyer”, due to our work culture that is a legacy of over 120 years of family business ensures this.
Silverware is known in our export market as – Silber in Germany, Argent Massif / Metal Argent in France, Argento in Italy or Hall Marked Sterling Silver / EPNS Ware in England and USA. And for the Whorras all these words are synonymous with our quality standards.
Each of these markets have taught us the need and techniques to maintain quality as well as the infrastructure to constantly build new designs.
Technology coupled with traditional techniques is really the force behind our success. (Fourth Generation craftsmen refer to their grandfather who used to work for us!) Thus hand crafting is supplemented by modern techniques and the final product – both of Sterling Silver and Silver plated – shows the effort that has gone into producing it. And then our set-up can produce large volumes at economical prices.
Technology and Research have enabled us to offer products that were not even possible to visualise before – an appropriate example is the Silver clad glass collection.

Our Unique Processes and Fabrication Techniques
I) STERLING SILVER CLAD GLASS RANGE OF PRODUCTS
This is a novel innovation based on the concept of fusing silver on glass resulting in homogeneity in design and a visually fascinating product. The reflections arising from the myriad patterns are enhanced by the shadows created by the contours of glass and the visual effect is mesmerising. The Cladding is so well fused that there is no space for even a single strand of human hair to pass between the glass and the silver.
II) ELECTROFORMING STERLING SILVER BY THE LOST WAX PROCESS.
By Electroforming on wax models and then melting out the wax, we produce 3D figures of any intricate form and shape. This is a novel innovation from us, based on the concept of offering Sterling Silver items at very economical costs and imparting high perceived value at the same time. From the intricate details of the coat of an Irish Setter, or the whiskers of a grisly bear to the detailing of human facial features, are all a result of this process. This process necessitates the best possible infrastructure for “model making”.
III) HAND CRAFTING
Our craftsmen are perhaps the most skilled in India. And the fact that their forefathers worked for our family helps in attracting the best possible talent. And once with us, this talent would never leave since nobody in our trade looks after them as we do!
IV) MACHINERY – Double/Triple action
Hydraulic and mechanical presses, hand operated spinning machines, etc. are part of our production processes. Die making is facilitated through an in-house tool room or such contracted EDM or wire cutting machines.
For silver plated products we use industrial cold rolled brass sheets and for sterling silver products we roll our own sheets from silver alloy casted in “continuous casting” machines.
Besides having several plants for electroforming, we have a plant for high speed bright silver plating.
V) TARNISH RESISTANT COATING:
Keeping pace with the changing times and needs, an anti-tarnish coating is offered by us. This is the result of years of R & D and the need to tap the new market – that of the 25 year old consumer who does neither have the time nor the inclination to clean and polish tarnish and to save the retailers’ time and effort to clean products on display.
We like to make a special mention that our Bar & Baby range of products in Sterling Silver & Silver Plated and all food containers conform to California Standards in food safety.
