Zwick: Intelligent testing
Zwick is a member of the Zwick Roell Group, a key player in the global market for testing systems for mechanical tests on materials. Operating worldwide, the Zwick Roell Group has manufacturing facilities in Ulm, Germany as well as further headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and Singapore.
In 2006 the Group employed approx. 800 staff in its global operations, taking in total revenues of 110 million euros.
In line with recent market trends, we have consistently driven the changeover from a purely manufacturing concern to a global service enterprise in the field of materials testing. In addition to supplying precise, innovative, and reliable testing machines, we also offer materials test engineering, project management, operator training, calibration, and machine overhauls and upgrades.
Today, textile materials are among the most important high-tech materials. They are increasingly being used in innovative products. Thanks to the characteristics obtained in complex industrial processes, the range of applications extends from vehicle and aircraft construction, structural and civil engineering, agriculture, environmental engineering, sports and recreation, and medicine on up to pre-production of digital systems. Even traditional household and clothing textiles are being provided with more and more additional functions.
Zwick has the most modern testing resources and software applications for testing the basic raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products in accordance with the respective international and national standards.
In the case of textile materials, the material properties are determined using the following tests:
• Tensile Strength • Tear Resistance • Adhesive Strength • Bursting Strength • Static Puncture • Seam Slippage Resistance • Needle Tearing Out Resistance • Compression
With a large range of accessories the Zwick/Roell Group offers a variety of possibilities for a specific high-precision testing of the textile materials with exactly reproducible results.
